Who we are
Mom as a Service is an SMS reminder service operated by Erik de Stefanis as a sole proprietor. You can reach us at erik@momasaservice.com.
What we collect
We collect only what the service needs to work:
- Your mobile phone number.
- The name you tell us to call you, and your timezone and preferred quiet hours.
- The content of text messages you send us and that we send you, including any photos you send as proof that a task is complete.
- The tasks you create, their deadlines, and whether they were completed.
- If a family member invited you, the connection between your account and theirs.
We do not collect your location, contacts, or anything stored on your phone. There is no app to install.
When you visit our website, we use an analytics service to count visits and understand how people find us. It records things like the pages you view, the site that sent you, your approximate country, and your browser and device type. This website data is not linked to your phone number or your text messages.
How we use it
We use your information to send you the reminders you asked for, to keep track of which tasks are done, and to respond when you text us. If a family member set up your reminders with your consent, we tell them when a task is completed or badly overdue. We do not use your information for advertising.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing. We share it only with the service providers that make the product function:
- Telnyx delivers text messages to and from your phone.
- Anthropic processes the content of your messages, and any photos you send, so the service can understand you and write replies. Your messages are sent to Anthropic’s API for this purpose.
- Supabase and Vercel host our database and application.
- Inngest schedules the reminders.
- DataFast measures visits to our website. It never receives your phone number or messages.
We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect someone’s safety.
If a family member signed you up
Nobody can be added without their own consent. When someone submits your number, we send you exactly one invitation and nothing further unless you reply YES. The person who invited you only hears about the tasks they set for you: when those are completed or seriously overdue, plus a weekly summary of them. They never see tasks you set for yourself, tasks anyone else set for you, or your messages to us. You can disconnect them at any time by replying BLOCK, which keeps your own reminders running, or leave entirely by replying STOP.
Keeping and deleting your information
We keep your information while your account is active. If you reply STOP we stop messaging you immediately. To have your data deleted entirely, email erik@momasaservice.com from a message that identifies your phone number, and we will delete it. You can also ask us what information we hold about you.
Security
Your information is stored in an access-controlled database and transmitted over encrypted connections. No system is perfectly secure, so please do not send us sensitive information such as financial account numbers, government identification numbers, or health details. The service does not need them.
Age
Mom as a Service is for adults 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If we learn that a user is under 18, we close the account and stop messaging them.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page. Material changes will be announced by text message before they take effect.
