The service

Mom as a Service sends you text message reminders about tasks you choose, in the voice of a persistent but loving mother, until you tell us the task is done. It is operated by Erik de Stefanis as a sole proprietor. By texting (833) 426-1887 or replying YES to an invitation, you agree to these terms.

Who can use it

You must be 18 or older. You may only sign up your own phone number, or submit someone else’s number if you genuinely believe they want this — and they will still have to consent themselves before we message them again. Submitting someone’s number to harass them is a misuse of the service and we will block the sender.

Consent and opting out

We never send reminders to anyone who has not opted in. If someone invites you, we send exactly one invitation; if you do not reply YES within 48 hours, the invitation expires and we do not contact you again.

Reply STOP at any time to end all messages immediately. START resumes them. BLOCK disconnects the person who invited you while keeping your own reminders. HELP returns support information.

Messages and charges

Message frequency depends on the reminders you set, capped at three messages per task per day, and we do not send messages between 9:00 PM and 9:00 AM in your local time. Message and data rates may apply from your carrier. We are not responsible for carrier charges, and we cannot guarantee that every message will be delivered — carriers and networks sometimes fail.

This is not a critical alert service

Do not rely on Mom as a Service for anything where a missed reminder causes real harm. It is not a medical, safety, financial, or emergency service. Do not use it for medication timing, legal or tax deadlines with serious consequences, or anything requiring guaranteed delivery. Messages can be delayed or lost, and the service can be unavailable.

Automated messages

Messages are generated automatically by software, including artificial intelligence. The “mom” persona is fictional, is not a real person, and is not a substitute for a relationship, therapy, coaching, or professional advice of any kind. If you are struggling, please reach out to a real person — you can call or text 988, the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline, at any time in the United States.

Photos you send

If you send a photo as proof that a task is complete, we process it to check whether it plausibly shows what you say it shows. This check is automated and imperfect. If a family member set up that task, we may tell them the task was completed and that proof was provided. Do not send photos containing sensitive personal information.

Your account

You are responsible for the phone number you use and for the accuracy of what you tell us. We may suspend or end your access if you misuse the service, attempt to sign up people who have not consented, or use it in a way that violates carrier rules or the law.

No warranty and limits on liability

The service is provided as is, without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for anything you did or failed to do because a reminder arrived, did not arrive, or arrived late. Our total liability to you is limited to the amount you have paid us, which is currently zero.

Changes

We may update these terms. The date at the top of this page reflects the current version, and material changes will be announced by text message before they take effect. Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept it.
